Minister for Industry, Entrepreneurship Development and Business Innovation | The Republic Of Seychelles
Mr. Wallace Cosgrow was appointed Minister for Industry, Entrepreneurship Development and Business Innovation in July 2017. Under the purview of his ministry, there are the Departments of Industry, Entrepreneurship Development and Business Innovation. He is also responsible 3 agencies, SEnPA – the Small Enterprise Promotion Agency, the IEA – Industrial Estate Authority and SBS Seychelles Bureau of Standard.
In February 2015 he was allocated the portfolio of Fisheries and Agriculture and October 2016, he was appointed as the minister responsible for Employment, Entrepreneurship Development and Business Innovation. Before his ministerial appointment, Mr. Cosgrow was the Chief Executive Officer of the Agency for Social Protection, a post he held for 2 years and 3 months. From April 2012 to November 2012, he was holding the post of Director General in the Office of the President; responsible for Public Service Affairs.
As the Minister for Industry, Entrepreneurship Development and Business Innovation, he wants to see a business environment which is conducive for the private sector contribute more towards economic development of the country through the development of the MSME sector, creation of employment as well as the entrepreneurship spirit, while maintaining industrial peace and harmony.
Mr. Cosgrow holds a BA in Economics with the University of East London. In his spare time he enjoys doing voluntary works in his local community. This helps him to mingle with people in his neighborhood. Minister Wallace Gosgrow is a very friendly, outgoing and an open person.
