Mr. David Zhang, a registered investment advisor of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and one of the first batch of professionals to study CRS and FATCA at home, is currently a top expert in domestic CRS, overseas trust and U.S. tax planning, providing multiple ultra-high-net-worth individuals with consulting and design services concerning overseas trusts, foundations, cross-border structures and CRS. At present, Mr. Zhang provides related technical support to many institutions and family offices in China.
Mr. Zhang has more than a decade of rich experience in overseas investment, tax structures and family succession. Mr. Zhang, as the chief investment officer of E Fund HK and the general manager of E Fund U.S., was in charge of the overseas investment business, with nearly HKD 30 billion assets under his management, and he issued a number of public and private funds abroad. Prior to that, Mr. Zhang, as the head of Bosera Funds, had close contact with almost 100 American university foundations, family offices, and quasi-sovereign funds, providing business cooperation for high-net-worth customers, and successfully issuing Hong Kong A50 ETF with the raised funds of nearly USD 200 million. Mr. Zhang also assisted the team in acquiring the special account management of several sovereign funds, and accumulated extensive experience in overseas investment, issuance and the management of overseas funds. During his tenure at PIMCO, Mr. Zhang participated in investment research, trading assistance and product design of the company’s real returns department and global bond department.
Mr. Zhang graduated in Financial Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
